Recently, I sat down [virtually, over Zoom] with Annapurna Sriram, director of Fucktoys, who generously sent the scanned originals from the film’s official pitch deck, an exclusive, world-first look. The deck’s handcrafted style matches the film’s DNA: camp cinema, anarchist-punk-feminism, and a “middle finger” spirit that’s uniquely hers.

Describing Fucktoys to someone without context isn’t easy; thankfully, Annapurna’s own words in the deck set the tone: it’s “like if John Waters and Gregg Araki had a kid and that kid was the post-apocalyptic landscape of 80’s punk film Jubilee.”

Got it? If not, take a look at these 15 original, hand-scanned pages and you’ll get a clearer sense of what you’re stepping into. Put simply: there isn’t anything else like it.

Stay tuned for our full interview with Annapurna, as she delves into the title, shooting on 16mm and anamorphic lenses, anti-establishment sentiments, and her plans to take over arthouse cinemas across North America.
