It’s a new month, and that means new movies are hitting theaters. I’m going to run through four films that are either worth checking out based on my own viewing or have significant buzz and anticipation surrounding them.

I Saw the TV Glow is the second feature film from director Jane Schoenbrun. They exploded onto the indie scene in 2021 with We’re All Going to the World’s Fair, a low-budget, creepypasta-style production that garnered tremendous critical acclaim, even if it didn’t resonate as strongly with general audiences.

Yes, there’s a new Cronenberg film, but not from the legendary David Cronenberg or his rising star son Brandon Cronenberg. Instead, this feature comes from Caitlin Cronenberg, making her debut with Humane.

Civil War might just be Alex Garland's best film since Ex Machina. This A24 production follows a group of photojournalists documenting the violence of a near-future American Civil War. The film dives deep into the chaos and destruction, providing a raw, immersive experience that feels all too real.

Monkey Man is a film that almost never saw the light of day. It faced significant distribution challenges, but here it is now, a testament to perseverance and creative vision.

Believe it or not, we're already a quarter of the way through 2024. With the year racing by, I wanted to take a moment to highlight five standout films that have captivated audiences and critics alike.
